HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HAT

A little care goes a long way.

Our hats are made to be worn.

On holidays.
To long lunches.
On strolls on the bright side of the road.
Everywhere sunny days take you.

But our natural-fibre hats — made from paper, raffia, wheat straw or combinations of these materials — don't love water.

A little care will help keep your hat looking its best.

Keep it dry

Our hats are not designed to get wet.

Avoid rain, splashing and prolonged exposure to water.

If your hat does get caught in a shower, or splashed, don't panic.

Gently shake off any excess water, gently pat it dry or allow it to dry naturally, ensuring the shape is maintained.

No hairdryers.
No radiators.
No shortcuts.

Handle it by the brim

When putting your hat on, taking it off or moving it around, handle it by the brim rather than the crown.

It helps protect the shape and avoids unnecessary pressure on the crown.

Give it somewhere good to live

When you're not wearing your hat, store it somewhere dry and away from direct sunlight.

Never leave your hat in a hot car. Excessive heat can affect the glue under the band.

Where possible, rest your hat in a way that doesn't put pressure on the brim. Our handwoven rattan hat stands are perfect.

And don't squash it under a pile of things.

Your hat has standards.

Keep it looking fresh

For everyday dust or light marks, use a soft, dry brush or cloth and treat the material gently.

Don't scrub.

And never immerse your hat in water.

A little love Kate tip

Keep it dry. Handle by the brim. Wear it often.

Use your head.
